Personal Gear List

  • Sleeping Bag-Try to stick to synthetic unless you have a good waterproofing system. Down will not dry.
  • Sleeping Pad
  • Tent-make sure to set up before trip
  • Head Lamp or Flashlight
  • Batteries-or charge cords for your appliances
  • Rain Gear (jacket and pants)
  • River Shoes or Sandals
  • Extra Shoes (for around camp)
  • Toque (Yes we wear them all year)
  • Mitts (Useful for all sorts of thing)
  • Fleece Jacket
  • Fleece Pants
  • Underwear-More than one pair is useful if you get wet...it does happen in rapids!
  • Long Underwear
  • Long Sleeves
  • Warm Socks-at least two pairs, one for sleeping in! Dry socks are a hot ticket item on day three!
  • Bathing Suit
  • Shorts
  • Pants
  • T-Shirts
Please keep to synthetic materials for river travels. Cotton retains water and is very hard to dry! Same with the down sleeping bags.
 
  • Glasses/Contacts
  • Medication -please keep in orginal bottle with doctor and instructions(with extra just in case)
  • Extra Contacts/Glasses (just in case)
  • Eye Glass Container
  • Contact Solution
  • Sun Glasses-Maybe keep the Oakley's at home. We have sacrificed many to the river
  • Sun Hat or Ball Cap
  • Sunscreen-Please use at least SPF 20. The reflection off of the water will give you a sunburn fast!
  • Mosquito Repellent
  • Bug Jacket or Bug Hood
  • Leatherman
  • Binoculars
  • Camera
  • Film-If you are still old school, or extra cards, or waterproof case for camera or phone
  • Biodegradable Shampoo-pay close attention to the label
  • Biodegradable Body Soap-make sure effective in cold water
  • Water Bottle-Leak proof
*Keep one complete set of clean clothes in your vehicle or school bus for the trip home. There is nothing nicer than clean clothes for the ride home.
